amanobooks.com december newsletter

Greetings!

Hi there fellow journalers! The holiday season is now upon us. It always seems to sneak up on us every year. I hope everyone had a happy, warm and full Thanksgiving with friends and family. Best wishes as well as the holidays unfold this coming month!

New stores with amanobooks journals

I am excited to announce that two gift shops now carry amanobooks journals. If you are in Montana or Virginia, stop in and have a look! I am very happy that my journals have found temporary homes among fine art.

Journaling tips
Gratitude

Yes, the allotted day for giving thanks was last week, but it is important to give thanks every week and every day of the year. Often we are overwhelmed by all the obligations we have in our daily lives that it is easy to forget what we have.

With all the global devastation that we have been witnesses to this year, it really hits home how important it is to count our blessings.

Write a Gratitude List in your journal. From the big things like a recovery from an illness to the smallest things such as a genuine smile from a stanger or the extra whip cream in your mocha. When we remember what we have, our lives become more abundant. If this is difficult, start small. You'll be amazed by all that you have to be grateful for.

New Journals
Mixed Media Journals

Creating mixed media journals brings me the most joy and satisfaction. They are a bit like visual journal entries for me. I alter my own photographs for the imagery and add bits of odds and ends that I have collected in my wanderings.

The words that I add to accompany the pieces are usually pulled from old journal entries-which I have many of! Our journals are not only receptacles for our thoughts but can also be a fountain of inspiration. They speak to who we are, because, well, we wrote them!

These are one of a kind pieces and I often am adding a new journal on the website, so check back often! mixed media collage journals

I have an art blog where I post the mixed media panels before they become journals. I write about process that went into making the piece. I also post other paintings that I may be working on. If you are at all curious, check it out! bgm art journal

For a lower cost alternative, I have created coiled journals with reprints of a select group of mixed media collages. These contain heavier 80# paper that would be great for those of you who like to paste, draw, and paint in your journals. I will be adding some new reprints soon! Coil Collage Reprint Journals
