A new beginning, a blank page. But sometimes it is hard to start a journal just as it can be hard to keep all those new year’s resolutions. Journaling though doesn’t have to be something that gets dropped. One of the main things to remember about journaling is that it’s always going to be there for you. Whether you journal every day, once a week, or once a month. So take the pressure off yourself and just enjoy it when it happens.

For the new year I plan to post a journaling tip every Tuesday. It may be a writing tip or prompt to get you started, or it could be a visual journaling tip. Stay tuned!

The Keeper journal with a cover depicting a bee was just added. This piece is highly textured in contrast to the simple handdrawn and painted bee. The bee sits on top of a torn dictionary page that includes the word keeper. Of course, considering the subject matter, I could not resist and encased the cover with a thin layer of melted wax.

I remember reading an article about the vanishing bee colonies explaining how the honey bee is critical in the food production on this planet of ours. The humble bumble bee, the keeper of life.
