A MANO: Spanish for "By Hand"


Each book is unique and handcrafted. I create mixed media journals whose front covers are original pieces of artwork utilizing images from my photographs, collected ephemera, string, metal, wax, paint, graphite, ink, found words, poetry.  The other journals on the site are simple nature-inspired designs often using beautiful handmade Lokta paper and found objects from nature walks or stamps that I have carved myself.  That being said, each handmade journal is one of a kind.

I have been journaling for years and always had to change the covers of mass-produced, store-bought blank books to make them feel "right." When I make these journals I always keep that in mind. Each one must feel right and feel welcoming to the muse.

I invite you to use my books for your thoughts, dreams, notes, recipes, sketches, addresses -- anything that needs to come out and be put on paper.
